从前，有一个勤劳的农夫，可是他的儿子们都很懒，家里的葡萄园全是农夫一个人在种。

一天农夫快死了的时候，他想让自己的儿子们和自己一样勤劳，于是农夫把儿子们叫来告诉儿子们一个秘密，说：“孩子们，我就要离开这个世界了，我在葡萄园下埋了很多宝物，你们去把它们找出来吧！”儿子们非常开心。父亲去世后，他们把那葡萄园的地全都翻了一遍，什么宝物都没找到，却把葡萄园的地很好地翻了一下，所以这年比以前结了更多的葡萄。他们变得比以前有钱了，儿子们从此也变得和农夫一样勤劳了！

THE FARMER AND HIS SONS

A Farmer，being at death’S door,and desiring to impart to his Sons a secret of much moment，called them round him and said，“My sons，I am shortly about to die；I would have you know,therefore，that in my vineyard there lies a hidden ，and you will find it.”As soon as their father was dead，the Sons took spade and fork and turned up the soil of the vineyard over and over again，in their search for the treasure which they supposed to lie buried found none，however：but the vines，after SO thorough a digging，produced a crop such as had never befnre been seen.
