四月南风大麦黄——In the Fourth-month the south wind blows plains of yellow barley,
枣花未落桐叶长——Date-flowers have not faded yet and lakka-leaves are long.
青山朝别暮还见——The green peak that we left at dawn we still can see at evening,
嘶马出门思故乡——While our horses whinny on the road, eager to turn homeward.
陈侯立身何坦荡——Chen, my friend, you have always been a great and good man,
虬须虎眉仍大颡——With your dragon's moustache, tiger's eyebrows and your massive forehead.
腹中贮书一万卷——In your bosom you have shelved away ten thousand volumes.
不肯低头在草莽—— You have held your head high, never bowed it in the dust.
东门酤酒饮我曹——After buying us wine and pledging us, here at the eastern gate,
心轻万事皆鸿毛——And taking things as lightly as a wildgoose feather,
醉卧不知白日暮——Flat you lie, tipsy, forgetting the white sun;
有时空望孤云高——But now and then you open your eyes and gaze at a high lone cloud.
长河浪头连天黑——The tide-head of the lone river joins the darkening sky.
津口停舟渡不得——The ferryman beaches his boat. It has grown too late to sail.
郑国游人未及家——And people on their way from Zheng cannot go home,
洛阳行子空叹息——And people from Loyang sigh with disappointment.
闻道故林相识多——I have heard about the many friends around your wood land dwelling.
罢官昨日今如何——Yesterday you were dismissed. Are they your friends today?

风吹柳花满店香——A wind, blowing willow-cotton, sweetens the shop,
吴姬压酒唤客尝——And a Wu girl, pouring wine, urges me to share it
金陵子弟来相送——With my comrades from NanJing to see me off;
欲行不行各尽觞——And as each of them drains his cup, I hesitantly say to them in parting,
请君试问东流水——Oh, go and try to ask the water running to the east
别意与之谁短长——If it can travel farther than a friend's departure!
每日一诗：王维 洛阳女儿行洛阳女儿对门居——There's a girl from Loyang in the door across the street,
才可容颜十五馀——She looks fifteen, she may be a little older.
良人玉勒乘骢马——While her master rides his rapid horse with jade bit an bridle,
侍女金盘脍鲤鱼——Her handmaid brings her cod-fish in a golden plate.
画阁朱楼尽相望——On her painted pavilions, facing red towers,
红桃绿柳垂檐向——Cornices are pink and green with peach-bloom and with willow,
罗帷送上七香车——Canopies of silk awn her seven-scented chair,
宝扇迎归九华帐——And rare fans shade her, home to her nine-flowered curtains.
狂夫富贵在青春——Her lord, with rank and wealth and in the bud of life,
意气骄奢剧季伦——Exceeds in munificence the richest men of old.
自怜碧玉亲教舞——He favours this girl of lowly birth, he has her taught to dance;
不惜珊瑚持与人——And he gives away his coral-trees to almost anyone.
春窗曙灭九微火——The wind of dawn just stirs when his nine soft lights go out,
九微片片飞花琐——Those nine soft lights like petals in a flying chain of flowers.
戏罢曾无理曲时——Between dances she has barely time for singing over the songs;
妆成只是薰香坐——No sooner is she dressed again than incense burns before her.
城中相识尽繁华——Those she knows in town are only the rich and the lavish,
日夜经过赵李家——And day and night she is visiting the hosts of the gayest mansions.
谁怜越女颜如玉——Who notices the girl from Yue with a face of white jade,
贫贱江头自浣纱——Humble, poor, alone, by the river, washing silk?

海上生明月——The moon, grown full now over the sea,
天涯共此时——Brightening the whole of heaven,
情人怨遥夜——Brings to separated hearts
竟夕起相思——The long thoughtfulness of night....
灭烛怜光满——It is no darker though I blow out my candle.
披衣觉露滋——It is no warmer though I put on my coat.
不堪盈手赠——So I leave my message with the moon
还寝梦佳期——And turn to my bed, hoping for dreams.

男儿事长征——There once was a man, sent on military missions,
少小幽燕客——A wanderer, from youth, on the You and Yan frontiers.
赌胜马蹄下——Under the horses' hoofs he would meet his foes
由来轻七尺——And, recklessly risking his seven-foot body,
杀人莫敢前——Would slay whoever dared confront
须如猬毛磔——Those moustaches that bristled like porcupinequills.
黄云陇底白雪飞——There were dark clouds below the hills, there were white clouds above them,
未得报恩不能归——But before a man has served full time, how can he go back?
辽东小妇年十五——In eastern Liao a girl was waiting, a girl of fifteen years,
惯弹琵琶解歌舞——Deft with a guitar, expert in dance and song.
今为羌笛出塞声——She seems to be fluting, even now, a reed-song of home,
使我三军泪如雨——Filling every soldier's eyes with homesick tears.

驱车登古原——I have driven up among the Leyou Tombs
夕阳无限好——To see the sun, for all his glory,
只是近黄昏——Buried by the coming night.
